Effects of FTAA on access to medications

Leaders in Kampala state that appointment of funds must be the highest priority

RedLa+. The 60 activist leaders that attended the Eleventh International Conference of People Living with HIV-AIDS at the Ugandan capital on October 26th through the 30th, stated in their closing statements that is its impossible and inadmissible to keep arguing the lack of economic funds to not implement national and international policies that cover that lack of antiretroviral treatments, analyses, education and nutrition, among other aspects.

In this document leaders specify that appointment of “funds must be the highest priority to create and strengthen public policies aimed towards promoting and guaranteeing the supply of Antiretrovirals”, with quality and efficacy, integral health, specific studies and everything else that directly or indirectly improves the quality of life of all the people living with HIV.

The Latin American Network of PLHA wll continue with the requests and mobilizations, giving support to all the PLHA in Africa and worldwide.

Gay organizations demand justice to Vicente Fox

NotieSe, Mexixo D.F. Several organizations in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community in Tabasco, sent Mexican President, Vicente Fox, a letter last November in which they demand that they shed light into the murders and violent acts against homosexual men in this locale.

Miguel Chable Rodriguez a member of the Democracy and Sexuality Network, (Demysex, initials in Spanish), assured that they will take advantage of the start of the “Expo Juventud” (Youth Exposition) in Tabasco to notify the press about the “homophobia situation that is loved there and tolerated by the authorities, who in addition commit intimidation acts against those that report this situation”.
